PhD Perspectives
Are you considering a PhD? Curious about what it's like be a graduate researcher? In 2008 we asked some of our students about their PhD experiences and perspectives.
The first podcast focuses on the importance of the supervisor-student relationship. We meet four students and their supervisors as they discuss choosing a topic, relationships with colleagues and their supervisor's role, staying motivated, what have they learnt and their visions for the future. Listen to PhD Perspectives - episode 1.
In the second podcast, we speak to PhD candidates at different stages of their PhD. We meet four students who are at very different stages of their research, as they discuss defining their topics, recruiting subjects and collecting data all the way to the later stages of writing their theses and communicating their findings to their peers and to a broader audience. Listen to PhD Perspectives - episode 2.
Four years later, what are these students doing now? Read their profiles to find out where they are now, what they’re doing and how their PhD has been of value to them in their lives and their careers.
