The Faculty offers a research grant mentoring scheme by using a panel of mentors who offer faculty-wide mentoring for grant proposals to major funding sources. This mentoring complements the strategies of schools and departments and the Melbourne Research Office for research proposal submissions.
Faculty Grant Mentoring
The Faculty scheme provides peer group advice to assist Faculty researchers in developing proposals which are successful in attracting funding and which underpin their research career strategy.
Mentors are drawn from Faculty NHMRC, ARC and VicHealth fellows or Faculty members with an identified particular expertise. The mentoring scheme is coordinated through the Faculty Research Unit.
In addition, there is a Faculty Research Unit (FRU) service available to read and comment on draft grant proposals on any scheme. Please email a draft proposal to Marjorie Dunlop for an “outside the field” review. Turn-around will be as soon as possible via email. To assist with turn-around please indicate your submission deadline.
If you would like to talk over a new proposal or work through a re-submission strategy you can contact the MDHS Faculty Research Unit (FRU) for assistance. In addition, Early Drafts and/or Full Proposals for which a re-submission is being developed can be emailed to the FRU.
