Research Development
Staff in the Faculty Research Unit provide high quality administrative support for the development of the Faculty's research, including:
- Benchmarking of research - provision of support and advice to the faculty through research and information analysis and benchmarking activities
- Publication collection - provision of advice and support to ensure the faculty’s publications collection is maximised and accurate
- Equipment grants - coordination of the call for applications for funding for equipment
- Faculty Infrastructure - maintenance of a list of facilities, resources and services that are available, by negotiation with the named contacts, to members of the research community of the Faculty encompassing all its departments and schools.
- Expressions of Interest for External Grant Schemes - coordination and certification of EOIs that require approval by the Associate Dean (Research)
- Grant mentoring scheme – we provide and coordinate peer group advice to faculty researchers as they develop their research
- University of Melbourne Grant Schemes – where faculty ranking is required, we coordinate submission of applications and ranking and advise Melbourne Research
- Faculty Research Fellowships - coordination of application rounds for Faculty fellowships
- Faculty Research Scholarships - management of the Faculty's Research Scholarships including University-allocated research scholarships
- Committee support - provision of administrative support for committees chaired by the Associate Dean (Research):
- Faculty Research Committee
- Faculty Research Strategy Committee
- Faculty Research Training Committee (Chaired by the Associate Dean, Research Training)
- Special Studies Program (Long) SSP(L)
- Research Domains – provision of administrative support to the Research Domain Coordinators and coordination of Research Domain activities, including seminars, lectures and special events
- Faculty Research Notices - fortnightly communication of information on research funding opportunities, conferences, events and seminars specific to the faculty interests
- Research stories - promotion of the research and researchers through regular feature stories on the Faculty's research website
- Nominations, Prizes and Awards - advertisement and provision of administrative support for nominations for Prizes and Awards.
