Clinical Sciences and Health Practice

Clinical Sciences and Health Practice:

Research within this Research Domain is aimed at providing the highest standards of clinical practice, be they in medicine, nursing, social work, psychiatry, dentistry, behavioural science, surgery, general practice and primary care, or physiotherapy. Researchers in this Research Domain are involved in translating cutting-edge basic research from other research domains and in other spheres worldwide to directly benefit patients who suffer physical or mental illness.

"I'm hoping the Research Domain will focus and strengthen research and that researchers will more readily collaborate, linking similar research."

Professor Peter Ebeling, Research Domain Coordinator for the Clinical Sciences and Health Practice Research Domain says "the days of the single researcher are gone: the bigger the team the better."

Subdomains provide researchers with the opportunity to engage more closely with people who share an interest in their particular area of research focus. The Clinical Science and Health Practice Reseach Domain incorporates subdomains with specific focuses.

Membership of the Research Domains is broken into three categories:

- Full Members - staff members and RHD students within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.

- Affiliate Members - staff members and RHD students of the University of Melbourne (other than the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences).
