Cancer

Cancer:

Nearly one third of all deaths in Australia can be attributed to cancer and as our population ages, the burden of cancer care is increasing. Thus, cancer research has become an urgent health priority for Australia.

"Nothing is worse that working in isolation. It’s important to have people to talk to and to know the people to talk to." Dr Kate Drummond, Coordinator of the Cancer Research Domain, is a neurosurgeon with a background in clinical cancer management and research.

Membership of the Research Domains is broken into three categories:

- Full Members - staff members and RHD students within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.

- Affiliate Members - staff members and RHD students of the University of Melbourne (other than the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences).
